All they want Puntland and oppositions to talk about are his success, but never his failure. That would be acceptable if Puntland is a communist state or a dictatorship where the leader is never wrong and where innovation and competition are not tolerated and where the rule of law does not exist.
The Puntland has endured almost one year and more is enough reason in to take out the president or force him to resign or be impeached. The tragedy of puntland is there, is "NO” opposition party is yet to tell what they plan to do to change the situation. Time is running out. The Federal Government election is less than one year and half away.
Abdiweli has catastrophically failed at many levels, to begin with he appeared to be isolated alone in dark corner, where he is unable to get any relationship of Semi-autonomous leaders like Ahmed Madobe, Sharif Hassan, Abdi Qeybdiid and Baarleex , Puntland have ginned little and lost much to defend his case. We can only describe this is sign of weakness in political calculation. In America or Great Britain if you do not preform you lose the next election and give and other candidate a chance to prove he or she is better than you. Puntland will remain a big trouble.primarely taxation area
I don’t want to hear the lame excuses we give that Rome was not built in a day If Singapore was of that mind-set under lee KUan yu, she would not qualify to be called one of the four tigers of the pacific. Puntland is in trouble because the president who is rather ignorant and arrogant.
Every three months he engage a unnecessary task to invite the sultans and may prominent imams/ tribal leaders come and join him for a dinner and he is frequent visitor such unnecessary places. The president that as show of solidary. Abdiweli has promised the people he was going to be different but this turned out myth, in an actual fact he did not preformed to their satisfaction. His supporters were more or less telling us that Abdiweli need more time to preform we must just go on supporting the president even if the man has become an embarrassment.
They have to say to them "no” the man has to step down and the way to do is to have a national dialogue to demonstrate on the street in civilized manner. Puntland is in deep trouble as analysed have predicted a possible rupture in Puntland in the mid of 2015 if we keep doing what we have been doing moving round in circles or one step forward and two step backward… We do not have to become experts in probability theory to appreciate why the analysers are making those predictions. Those of us who can clearly read between the lines have to know that all is not well with Puntland with levels of corruption and soldiers have not even been paid their hard worked salary it is a sad! The putlnad has endured under the president of Abdiweli Gas. Some of Isse Mohamed friends are telling Punt landers not to worry because Puntland was worse off under "Adde Musse” I put it to them that Abdiweli was far more corrupt than Adde Musse and Farole.
I firmly hold to believe that we completely lost its moral compass and direction to rule puntland beyond couple of months. Abdiweli has failed the nation but they think they are the best. They quote often boast that they are going to rule puntland for the next ten years, forgetting that puntland might no longer exist by that time if you continue to endure such arrogant leader.
Puntland was established in 1998 with a self-destructive ambition to make the north eastern province a de facto substitute of Somali state. Apart from Somaliland, all other regional leaders were motivated to collaborate and merge their collective efforts in a coherent strategy to establish a strong central government. In practice, Strong Somali nation state creates a sustainable civil government based on unitary system of a democratic governance. Full Article
