The Associated Somali Journalists (ASOJ) warned from the Somali PM Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke to retain  the minister of Justice, Farah Abdikader. 

The journalists called on mr Sharmarke to sack Minister of Justice that has been a sign of injustice and anarchy.

The minister of Justice is accused of detaining more than 1,400 People and 75% of them held without trial . 

" More than 1,400 inmates among them including independent journalists  Mohamed Bashir and Mohamud Arab are in the central jail in Mogadishu. 

" Most of the inmates are already serving a year-and-half and their fate remain uncertain. some of the prisoners are  suffered due to sleep deprivation," said ASOJ Chairman, Dahir Alasow.  

Central Jail Visit

The ASOJ Chairman said that his Secretery and Batuule Sheikh Ahmed Gobale , the Chairperson of the Somali National Women's Association had paid a visit to the Central Jail and what they had seen is only expressed  " a man-made catastrophe." 

The statement of the ASOJ further said the relatives of the inmates are regularly extorted by the prison guards. 

" Again, we warn PM Omar Abdirashid from Mr. Farah to promote or reward him  an office since he is behind all these injustice  and we appeal for the release of the journalists that are in custody since mid-August 2014 without trial,"  Said Mr. Alasow 

TORTURE REPORTS

A journalist , who asked not to be named due to fear of repercussions, said Prisoners are ordered  to come out to the prison-yard during the nights, not to take exercises but to be tortured by their fellow prison agents .Many prisoners died because water was poured over their faces till they could not breathe.     

" It is deplorable that a mother delivered her baby in the prison before its brutal death due to regular severe tortures sustained her during her pregnancy,"  said Mr. Alasow.
