Since the collapse of Somali central government in 1991 Somali people endured death, destruction and displacement. However Northern Somali enclave was mainly peaceful although some skirmishes occurred forces loyal to Somaliland VS Puntland and Khatumo State recently joined in January 2012 when it declared its own local administration for Sool, Sanaag and Cayn regions, which functions under the Federal Government of Somalia.

This new administration  frustrates both Somaliland and Puntland who are not wish to see this administration to became functioning and stable. Somaliland forces invaded many places in the past one year including Taleex, Xudun and Saaxdheer and still holds Lasanod city which they captured back October 2007 from Puntland Forces. analysts in Lasanod expressed daily injustices and brutality of Somaliland forces on civilian population who are against occupying foces.

There is also recently another declared  local administration called "Awdal State" which borders both Djibouti and Ethiopia and their well known tribal leader called Webar is leading rebellious struggle against Somaliland forces.

the ongoing instability in northern Somalia is very alarming and concerns to every peace loving Somali citizen regardless political affiliation and number of people killed by Somaliland forces dramatically increased since incumbent Somaliland president Mr Ahmed Siilaanyo came to power as he waged war against every non-Isak tribes in Northern Somalia.

We are therefore seriously concerned current ship docked in Berbera Port  which carrying heavy artillery and other banned military hardware to Somalia. If these weapon goes to the wrong hand it will create death, havoc, destruction and long time hostility in Northern Somalia. Somaliland is tribal entity and must not be allowed to take these weaponry in its hand. more importantly UN Monitoring Group should be allowed without hindrance to investigate why these banned weaponry ended this port and its origin port and destination. there are unconfirmed reports that Somaliland and Al-shabab purchased  these weapons  and already this ship has offloaded some of its cargo at different locations in South and Central Somalia.

As peace love organization we call upon all interested parties in Somalia recovery to take bold steps for securing and safe passage to these lethal weaponry which currently fallen in the wrong hand  who is not accountable to any authority.
