Ali Gaál Asir won the speaker´s post in vote by Galmudug legislators in Adaado Saturday. The new speaker managed to win the election in second round after first round stand off.
Ali Gaál Asir gannered 48 votes out of possible 84 votes. He was followed by Abdullahi Asparo who managed 36 votes out of possible 84 votes.
Speaking after the result was annouced , the new speaker promised to serve Galmudug people with deligent ,determination and sincerity.
The MPs are also scheduled to elect two deputy parliament speakers in the coming days.
After electing parliament speakers , the MPs will elect President which will be the head of state in the region government.
