On October 7, 2015, RRU, who are remnants of the Isaaq SNM militia, have attacked, looted, and arrested several innocent Gadabursi businessmen in the city of Borama, Somalia.
RRU turned to clan militia
The businessmen who were looted and arrested are the following individuals:
1. Cabdilahi Maxamuud Nuur
2. Xasan Maxamuud Nuur
3. Cilmi Maxamuud Nuur
The angry Gadabursi community complained to the authorities in charge of the RRU. In return, the RRU responded with live bullets which killed one person, and wounded four.
15 year old dead boy murdered on October, 7th, 2015
On the following day, the RRU started mass arrests and more killings of the Gadabursi people who have done nothing to deserve this. The death toll is around ten, the wounded are around twenty, and the mass arrests are over 80 persons. The death includes women and children.
This boy was murdered by RRU, on October 10th, 2015 while he was playing soccer
We, the Gadabursi, are pleading with the United Kingdom government to intervene, this urgent death and destruction by RRU, immediately. It is the United Kingdom’s money that is killing these innocent men, women, and children. We are asking the United Kingdom to force the RRU of Hargeisa, Somalia, to refrain from killing, looting, and arresting innocent Gadabursi people.
In addition, we are pleading with the Somali Federal Government to come to the aid of these innocent Gadabursi victims who are being ethnically cleansed by Isaaq militia with the help of the Rapid Response Unit of Hargeisa.
The Gadabursi people are being murdered simply because they want to be part of Somalia.
Thank you.
