A senior Somali security officer
and other three people have been killed in roadside bomb
attack in the Somalia capital Mogadishu on Wednesday,
officials said – this was the first attack since the
government and its parliament relocated in the capital a
month ago.
Ubeyd Ali Fidow, his brother and two of his security
guards died when their car hit a remote-controlled bomb
explosion which took place in Shibis district in north
of Mogadishu.
No group has claimed the responsibility of the latest
bomb attack.
Government police spokesman Hussein Dhumal blamed the
latest attack on the Islamist rebels. “This is an act
carried out by those oppose the peace and stability, one
day they will face on trail under the Islamic law,” said
Dhumal.
Fidow, who had been the security chief of late Prime
Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi, was working for the current
government.
Witnesses told Waagacusub Media that the car was
completely destroyed by the blast as the scene was
circled by the security forces but no one has been
arrested for the attack.
