Somalia:Al-Shabab
claims Mogadishu blast, boycotts Sharia-based cabinet.

Somalia’s Islamist hardliners
Al-Shabab on Wednesday has claimed the responsibility of
today’s roadside bomb attack which killed a senior
government security official and three others in
Mogadishu– this comes day after the new cabinet declared
it moved to the implementation of the Sharia law.
As posted on the internet, Al-Shabab said their rocket
brigade planted a roadside bomb which detonated on the
car of a senior official killing himself, two of his
brothers who were serving as his security guards.
The explosion which took place in north of Mogadishu
destroyed the car as witnesses told Waagacusub Media.
This the first attack on the government led by Sharif
Sheik Ahmed since it relocated in the capital a month
ago.
Al-Shabab, which is the most radical and powerful group
that controls much of the country, dismissed the
decision in which the cabinet ministers of the new
government endorsed the implementation of the Sharia law
as drama performed the people.
In a statement issued today, Al-Shabab officials in
Mogadishu said the practice of the Sharia law is not
something needed to be voted but it is an obligation
rule by the Muslims. The cabinet’s vote for the adoption
of the Islamic religion means that the new government is
not based on un-Islamic constitution.
