A remote controlled roadside bomb has seriously wounded
Wadajir district commissioner Ahmed Hassan Adow known as
Ahmed Daaci in southwest of Mogadishu and killing two of
his security guards on Saturday afternoon, witnesses and
officials said.
The bomb which hit the car of the district’s
commissioner also wounded seven others including
soldiers and passersby.
Deputy mayor of Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia
Abdifatah Ibrahim Shaweye confirmed the injury of Ahmed
Dae to the local media as he was rushed to the hospital
run by the African Union keepers where he was being
treated.
The Islamic militant group Al-Shabab has claimed the
responsibility of the latest bomb attack on the district
commissioner’s car.
As posed on the internet, the group said Ahmed Daaci has
been critically wounded in the blast. Sources close to
Ahmed’s family confirmed to Waagacusub Media that he
lost of one his legs in the explosion.
Al-Shabab, which is strong Islamist rebel, is commonly
known to claim such attacks on the government officials.
This comes day after last Wednesday, similar roadside
bomb carried out by Al-Shabab killed a senior security
official and wounded two of his security staff in north
of Mogadishu.
