Mother of Stowaway boy Yahye Abdilahi who amazed the world after miraculously survived from a flight from California to Hawaii while the boy was hitching in Boeing 767 plane's wheel well for more than 5 hours, alleged her ex-husband and family members of denied access to her children in USA.

The mother of the stowaway Ubah Mohamed Abdilahi who currently lives in Sheed-dheer refugee camp in Ethiopia said this in an exclusive interview with BBC Somali Service.

Family members of YahyeThe mother added that her ex-husband lied to her son by giving false information on me. Yahya’s mother also claims she has been cut off by her ex-husband from her children.

"They boy was lied. He informed that I was killed in a rocket attack in Somalia a year ago. The boy have disclosed that I am still alive and that’s why he reacted and put himself in a risk by hitching in the wheel well of airplane during a flight in order to find his mother. He survived, Thanks to God. I am now in the process of immigrating to America and determined to win my children back.” She said,

The mother added that she had split with her ex-husband in a long time ago and that all her 3 children are currently live with him in USA; she also stated that she was rejected to have any kind of contact with her children by the family members from their father’s side.

"‘It was an upset to watch my child’s information from mass media. This has happened because of his father’s false information. My father and my brother have heard this information from the media.

"Recently I have contacted my children’s grandfather and uncle; but they didn’t allow me to communicate with them. They have denied my children’s rights, for that we are not in good terms. You didn’t make what is good for our children.”

Yahya Abdi, was identified to live with his father, step mother and four siblings in USA, but was trying to go and find his mother in Somalia after he unveiled that his mother is not died and lives in Somalia as confirmed by the security officials in Hawaii.

On the other hand His father Abdilahi told in an interview with VOA that his son talked a lot about going back to Africa and that he was not aware of his child’s intension to go to the airport, but only heard from the media, the same way as other people in the country.

He added that he has been shocked after heard the news of his son hitching in a plane’s wheel well more than 5 hours.

The teen is currently resting in a Hawaiian hospital. It is unclear when he will return to the Bay Area.
