
Suite aux efforts conjoints de l’Office des Nations Unies Droits de l’Homme (HCDH), l’Agence des Nations Unies pour les réfugiés (HCR) et les acteurs de la société civile, le gouvernement djiboutien a décidé, le dimanche 13 Avril 2014, de libérer tous les réfugiés érythréens et demandeurs d’asile. Les prisonniers de guerre érythréens n’ont pas été inclus dans cette mesure.
«Je me réjouis de la décision du gouvernement de Djibouti de déménager 266 Érythréens dans le camp de réfugiés du HCR à Ali-Addeh dans le sud du pays, dont certains que j’ai rencontré lors de ma mission à Djibouti en 2013 «, a déclaré Mme Keetharuth.
Le Rapporteur spécial a déclaré ses préoccupé au sujet des violations massives des droits de l’homme en Erythrée qui ont causé des centaines de milliers de personnes à quitter leur pays pour un avenir inconnu et précaire.
«Je réitère mon appel à la communauté internationale d’accorder le statut de refuge ou protection au moins temporaire à plus de 300.000 réfugiés érythréens et demandeurs d’asile , conformément à leurs obligations en vertu du droit international des réfugiés et les droits humains », a souligné Mme Keetharuth .

Le Rapporteur spécial des Nations Unies sur la situation des droits de l'homme en Erythrée , Sheila B. Keetharuth , a salué aujourd'hui la libération de tous les réfugiés et demandeurs d'asile
