Waagacusub.net - When many people hear donor support for a poor country and its people, one assumes it is based on humanitarian and authentic support. One of the leading donor countries is Finland that overtly defines the goal of its aid "to save lives, relieve human suffering, and to maintain human dignity during a crisis". Journalist in some rich western countries believe that journalists in developing countries are weak and without resources and therefore especially vulnerable to subversion.

However this is the case for Somali media community. The ugly reality behind the mirror is that Finnish Ministry is funding Finnish Journalist Union and NGO named Vikes in order to fund, train and support forces sabotaging media freedom in order to create more suffering for Somali journalists and divide them by using government organised journalist union {GOJU}.

A Finnish by the name Juha Rekola visited Mogadishu embedded in an African union military tank and visited government controlled Radio Mogadishu and its old, destroyed studios. Through State media, he termed his visit to assess media of Somalia to provide media development money. But definitely this was not the lone goal, and the main reason was not a genuine support but to pick puppets and lackeys to be used for unscrupulous agenda, inject more suffering for Somali media, inspire government machinery to continue its intention to subdue media rights and above all to help aid a global phenomenon of implementing neocolonial paradigms in the name of media support.

They are using dummy journalist structures after they failed penetrate bona fide union. Somali journalists widely believe Vikes became, quite literally, a disbursement agent for the Finnish journalist union.

Finish journalist union is extending its country's financial power and influence on Somalia through moneybags carried by one Juha Rekola and Vikes. It is the first step to impose age-old divide-and-rule policy on Somalia through its media. This divide-and-rule policy led by the Finnish and their unholy alliance seeks only to disturb and subvert independent journalist society of Somalia, never to support principled cause of journalists fighting for media rights. It is a move to hand Somali journalists in hands of unprincipled government officials for oppression.

The neo-colonial powers like Finnish Journalist Union pursue their actions in the name of trade union solidarity. But this does not fit the Finnish who deliberately chose to bankroll and proper a government yellow union, rejected all global membership based journalist, trade union and free expression movements, so as to progress it scandalous conspiracy. By sponsoring a government organized yellow union, they have shown complete contempt to the set principles of international trade unionism that support only independent and democratic trade unions.

Using Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs coffers Finnish union and Vikes

put on their payroll puppets in the Ministry and GOTU in order to cover up their neo-colonialist agenda. One official at the Ministry said salaries paid by Finnish is to "facilitate contacts with key leaders in the country and to influence Finland thinking and decisions in directions compatible with their goals”.

Under the appearance of good actions Finnish union, represented by one Juha Rekola and its NGO Vikes are shamefully funding scoundrels at Ministry of Information and GOTU so as to empower unjust forces in the government to silent independent media, confuse journalist community, weaken IFJ affiliated journalist union and push piracy of the name of internationally recognized journalist union in a complete neo-colonialist agenda, though Finland had never colonized before and seems it would want to use its financial power through its journalist union.

A witch-hunt is undertaken to silence or intimidate all independent media figures of Somalia through notorious movements by Finish journalist union and its aid arm VIKES.

It is time to stop lying and treating Somali journalists like imbeciles. Flaunting and exposing these geo-strategic and neo-colonialist interests by Finnish journalist and its money carrying officials is a duty and makes me proud.

Somali journalists have absorbed menacing intentions of those pretending to be democrats while they are nothing more than low class criminals. Juha Rekola and his cahoots believe they are the kings of the world because Somalia happens to be a poor country where their money is badly needed to manipulate in the midst of media crisis. They have insidious motives that guide these neo-colonialists operations.

Indeed, the system of imperialism has reached its stage of decay and it must be resisted.

Neo-colonialism succeeds because of tactic of divide and rule. Somali journalists will prove that neo-colonialism is the symptom of imperialism’s weakness and that it is defeatable.  Soon it will be defeated by the unity of exploited journalists of Somalia.

The time has come to oppose tired neocolonial paradigms that only benefit hegemonic powers.

It secretly and unlawfully recruited about 7,500 young Somalis sent to Eritrea

Western Intelligence Agencies Oppose the Democratization of Somalia Intelligence Services (NISA) History documents the strong character of the Somali people associated with messy democratic rule that cherishes individual liberty, freedom of expression and opinion, Justice, and private entrepreneurship rather than with autocratic rule. British explorer, Sir Richard Burton wrote in 1856, "the Somalis are fierce race of republicans, constantly changing political loyalties – the Somalis lived in what amounted to a state of chronic, political schizophrenia, verging on of anarchy. Every freeborn man holds equal to his ruler and allows no loyalties or prerogatives to abridge his birthright of liberty." However, Somalis are docile to discipline and obedience if social mediation applied fairly. The appropriate model of government for Somalia is the democratic rule. Full Article
