The three Syrian doctors, a Somali doctor with their body guards were going to Fiqi hospital, privately owned situated near Sinka-Dheer outside the capital Mogadishu when they were attacked according to eyewitness and director of Fiqi hospital.
"A Syrian doctor who is specialist in ENT ear nose and throat is seriously injured, Somali doctor, specialist in ENT is dead, and the three Syrian doctors were specialists of optical, urologist and gynecologist”, Dr. Abdirahman, Director of Fiqi hospital said.
Dr. Abdirahman added they did not receive any threats and the doctors did not inform us if they were saying such attack will not hinder their operation on social service.
The Syrian doctors were in Somalia for last two months working at Fiqi hospital treating Somalis by receiving in between 20-40 patients per day to each doctor according the Dr. Abdirahman.
The gunmen were dressed in government uniform and then escaped from the scene after the assassination according to the reports.
Al-qaeda linked group of Al-Shabab denied that it was behind the killing case against the doctors.

This is the largest number of foreign doctors killed in one spot so far since the collapse of the central government in 1991.
