Dear Sir,
It came to my attention that high level political figures in the Somali government continue to criticise the investigative journalist Dahir Alasow of Waagacusub media network as unreliable and biased. Some even go further of accusing him of blackmailing the current leaders of Somalia.
Indeed, the majority of Somali MPs and the public at large hold a completely different view. We believe Mr Dahir, otherwise known as Somali Whistle-blower and fearless journalist, is serving the Somali people in his drive to fight political insanity and rampant corruption in the highest places of the Government and their accomplices in the private sector.
We should bear in mind that the biggest menace facing the State is not insecurity or even Al Shabab, it is severe corruption at all levels of the Government. Without intrusive journalists, the public interest will suffer miserably.
To best of my knowledge, Mr Dahir whom I have known him for more than 20 years, is a respected journalist who operates within the limits defined in the ethics and standards of good journalism while preserving the defences of public interest.

Waagacusub.net -Auditor General Mohamed Ali alias Afgoi has exposed missing millions of dollars from key departments within the Federal Government of Somalia [FGS], in what could raise questions about government expenditures. In his report, Afgoi said 25 entities and three embassies have been audited.
