Yesterday, when the terrorist militia of Al-Shabab entered into the inner section of the state house of Somalia, the minister of national security Abdi Karim Gulet gave details to the journalists those rushed to the scene, the minister said the government have seized the attackers.
Abdi Karim Gulet has also said, "The militia those were behind this attack were mainly captured alive, they were nine, 7 of them we killed, as you see their bodies, and 2 exploded themselves and they died, as we arrested the rest.." the minister said.
The journalists and the media editors on the scene did not looked at such the big lie that minister Gulet was telling to wrong the public, as we know, the journalists stand for the spokes(persons) of the society.
Other mistake is...Someone who is claiming to be a journalist and cannot understand the number called 9? And when they have got the 7 bodies, and two more died in the car, why the journalists did not find themselves questioning the minister where are the other captured ones? Are they thrown from the sky? Mr. Minister cannot your ears and mouth listens to each other on what you pronounce?
The minister of national security had given the journalists null and void information, he has mistaken the relatives of those Al-Shababs died in the car. Both of those bombed themselves in the car have originated from Majeerteen and Mareexaan tribesmen, one of them was familiar in the state house as he was a courageous man but when some Al-shababs were killed in the fire exchange and the others escaped they remained with the car, and as these staff entered to drive the car and it has exploded.
Introduction investigations by foreign experts showed that the car had a secret button where Al-Shabab militia arranged to turn off on their way to retrieve. But the soldiers from the state house, those were unaware, have tried to drive and push the car, then it had accidentally exploded.
It is a big shame that minister of national security proposed to defend those officials from the state house that he instead explained to the media as if they were Al-Shababs. It is awaited how long it takes for him to forgive about the mistake he made as well as telling lies to the public media.
Crazy thing is that the attackers were 34; the killed were seven of them, so, where are the rest of the captured assailants?
It is absolutely prohibited that a national status minister gives a false report, however it is apparent that Somali leaders got from their imagination that a naked lie to the public could be a successful work..!
As a response to the minister's wrong doing, the Somali parliament is needed to immediately call the national security minister and MPs should ask him to show the terrorists those were captured during the Villa Somalia attack..!?
If journalists spread lies and propaganda explained by a politician it means that the microphone is put into the use of misleading the Somali society, so it is important that reporters should be responsible people and ensure if a politician would want to broadcast his lies everyday!
If the media houses do not make a follow-up and in-depth accountability, it will certainly be true that the Somali nation will remain in a problem because; the role of the free media has not taken its position.
If you are a journalist bring the fact based information in, otherwise lay down your arms to the propaganda…, by pretending as if you are a journalist, and, truly, you will not even become a journalist in the next coming generations.
