Kampalanews.net – After a joint investigation conducted by the Federal government and International independent Organizations, the individuals and the solely company behind the death of the Waagacusub Media's English-Editor was obtained.

"An earlier joint-investigation indicates that Hassan Ali”Geesey”, the manager of the Dalsan Radio involved in the assassination of the Waagacusub English Editor Abdullahi Anogel,” said A government official for the National security. Mr. Geesey was also behind the murder of Mohamed Muhyadin Ali, another Somali Journalist.

” Mr. Geesey have been seeing Mr. Anogel before his death for nearly three weeks”.

The death of the journalist Mr. Anogel is connected to his engagement to investigate the activities of the Dabahshiil Money Transfer who accused of the killing of a number of its critics. And his investigation and coverage might have been disturbed the company owner Abdirashil Duale.

” Mr. Geesey requested from us to hide the case, but we rejected it and we believe that he involved in the assassination of the journalist because when he contacted us he told that the deceased Waagacusub Journalist was not a truer journalist which is a story itself,” said an official for the National Union of Somali Journalists.

An investigative journalist based in Mogadishu said that Mr. Geeseey asked for the Mogadishu-based media not give a good coverage the murder of the journalist Abdullahi Ali Hussein.

Senior Criminal investigators Division, who participated in the Waagacusub Media’s research also confirmed that Mr. Geesey had involved in the assassination mission against the journalist of the Waagacusub Media.

The Unit of the criminal investigators Division (C.I.D) said that they were 99 % certain” that the assassination was behind Mr. Geesey.

"Unfortunately, there is nothing that we can do about it because Mr. Geesey is a relative of the Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud and Mr. Turyare, Commander of the National Intelligence and Security Agency of Somalia. Any member of the C.I.D that challenges with the suspected perpetrators will put themselves at risk,” said an official of the C.I.D.

Criminal investigators said that the assassinated journalist was prayed with Mr. Geesey in the same mosque in Darkenley neighborhood district of Mogadishu.

The Journalist Anogel received a phone from Dahabshiil telling him that he was sent a money through Dahabshiil, however, he was shot dead in  his way to Dahabshiil Transfer Company.

"Mr. Geesey remains unpunished because he is relied on a rich person Mohamed Ajib, and he also an official working for the Somali government’s Intelligence Agency NISA. The other issue which is the  very dangerous thing is that he had a contract with the Dahabshiil Company to do her dirty work of tracking down the journalists that want to investigate its illegal activities,” said another independent criminal investigator, who asked not to be named.

District Security Officer in Dharkenley said,  "Mr. Geesey has the power to hunt down the family of the assassinated journalist if they dare to speak out against him”.

"He may also force them to say that their son was not a journalist.”

"Waagacusub Media is very concerned about the possibility of not bring Mr. Geesey and three Dahabshiil staffers to justice since he is a relative of the president Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud” Said Waagacusub Editor-in-Chief Dahir Alasow.

Mr Alasow contacted to Mr. Geesey through Facebook and asked why his Dalsan media did cover the news about the assassinated journalist. He only published a piece about the case only after  a day ,after a long time silence. We are republishing it and taking a screenshot in case he deletes it after this publication.

"However, we will continue the investigation of the case until the perpetrators are brought in front of the justice. It’s worth to mention that Mr. Geesey remains a suspect until conviction” added Investigative Journalist Alasow.
