Such enterprises includes among others Horn risk management a subsidiary of shield risk management which charges every passenger going through the airport $20 dollar by generating  $4 million annually with minimum operational and capital cost  as the equipment they use has been donated by the British government via Dfid. British aid rules prohibits utilization of aid money and equipment for commercial purposes. 

National handling provides loading, unloading, cleaning and packing services at the airport; it generates annually $3 million. It is staff has not been vetted and their  security viability and soundness is unknown.

The third company provides parking services at the airport premises and generates annually $ 2 million dollars.

All of the above income can not be traced its whereabouts and none is reinvested back in the airport development and modernization. No one knows the security soundness of the owners of those companies and as the Somaliland company law dictates, companies should furnish annual statements at company registrar office, which they never did as they ignore all local and international laws, standards and aviation norms.

In conclusion, the untransparent financial management system at the airport risks security of the passengers and airlines companies operating at the airport, since the existence of impropriety can result system of bribery, smuggling and trafficking.
