Somali Media have recent started to give a credit one of its fellow journalists over his work as he was caught between Somali militants and a government that suppresses the media workers.

Dahir Abdulle Alasow, a Somali investigative journalist based in Breda, Netherlands found himself in a very difficult situation during his stay in Mogadishu, Somalia.
He started to criticize the strict law of the  Al-Shabaab militants during most of Southern and central parts of Somalia including the capital City of Mogadishu were under the militant's control.
Mr. Alasow received a death threat from the first Shabaab leader , Aden Hashi Farah, better known as Ayro.
Ayro vowed that he would kill the journalist when he had returned from his operation but the investigative journalist was saved by the U.S drones that killed Ayro in an air strike on May 1, 2008.
Dahir challenged funding fathers of the terror group , Al-Shabaab, including Dahabshiil Company.
His colleagues were assassinated in Somalia by Dahabshiil Company Group but unlike his workmate,  he was granted asylum by Netherlands and gave the journalist a Political Assylum to get a safe haven and protection from Netherlands.
Despite receiving death threats from Dahabshiil Company founder and Chairman, Mohamed Duale , he enjoys freedom of speech and advocates for his fellow Somali journalists that are in distress.
An editorial article published in  warsomali.net site called Mr Alasow " The leader of the free speech" citing an assessment made by the editor of the site, Abdirizak Terra, that is concerning about the most dangerous years that Mr. Dahir worked through.
The investigative Journalist survived from many assassination attempts during his stay in Netherlands following after he published various articles related to the Dahabshiil Company's involvement when it comes to financing the terrorist groups , the likes of Al-Shabaab.
An statement in the editorial article reads, "Alasow has always been an influential figure when it comes to educating Somalis via social Networks including Facebook and Twitter."
Thousands of his  twitter followers and Facebook friends that were previously his antagonists turned to be his faithful readers and his supporters, said the statement.
" Dahabshil Group , Somtel Company that provides internet service to the Somaliland community to shut down Alasow's Waagacusub Media, said Qarninews.com Media another Somaliland owned news portal.
However, Dahabshiil expressed concern for the Social Media that provides an important platform for Mr. Alasow to reach out thousands in Somaliland that receive every single information and news he posts on his Facebook," added qarni News.
