Ten Things You Should Know About the So-called Somaliland (Of course there are many more, but let's look briefly at 10 truths about the so called Somaliland) Make yourself a Sheep and the Hyena will eat you. Somali Proverb A system cannot fail those it was never meant to help and protect

W.EB. Du Bois
⦁The Borama Conference of 1993 was set up for the need of tackling peace on all fronts, a lasting peace and the coexistence of clans and underlining the unequivocal commitment to good neighboring relations.

⦁However, for some, the aim was to make a new reality on the ground and rig the political representation in order to exclude other clans from their political rights.

⦁It’s clear that the objective of the so-called Somaliland is not a clan contract or a nation building, but to seek a safe haven for Assabiyyah and the Middle-clan‘s self-aggrandisement. Since then, no other narrative is allowed: henceforth, Gadaboursi and Harti became guests in their own lands.

⦁For watchful eyes, the idea of Assabiyyah was ingrained from the start, regardless of the cheap propaganda and lip service for peaceful coexistence by the Middle clan. The Harti Garaad and the Gadabursi Sultans nevertheless took the Middle Clan at their word, for the sake of the peace.

⦁Behind all the cheerful buzz about Somaliland lies the cult of kinship and the reverence of the clan, born on a premise of an old and obscure yearning; the dream of an Assabiyyah: a trophy and a tool to capture more power and to make the dream come true. The rest is history; a monopoly claiming moral and political legitimacy of all territories of the old British Protectorate, to pave the way for their fiefdom and crown their own clan.

⦁By comparison, with all the difficulties in Mogadiscio, there is still a quest for a political solution, and to make it secure for all clans in their respective regions. Assabiyyah, however is only about boosting the bully clan of the Middle, raising them above all and tying up others to the tree of the false peace.

⦁There is no peace in "Somaliland”, as per the propaganda but a semblance of peace. There is no development but a separate development for the people in the triangle Hargeisa-Berbera-Burao. There is a no future but dark clouds behind the semblance of normalcy, much to the chagrin of the singing professor of Minnesota.

⦁The power in Hargeisa "didn’t fail to help” the Harti and the Gadarboursi, it was never intended to help them, because, it was put in place, for the sole purpose of political disfranchisement. The objective is to dwarf and erase the symbolic representation of other clans.

⦁Meanwhile the Assabiyyah of Hargeisa is the worst form of governance with its mass-indoctrination of the people in Hargeisa and their diaspora, stirring up clan passions and incite of the dark side of human behaviors. A crucial distinction between an Assabiyyah and a federal regime is that the former is less subject to reason, equity and realpolitik. So shame on us to let the "fox in charge of the henhouse”, and then cry for injustice for more than two decades.

⦁Neither propaganda nor phony elections can change an Assabiyyah, nor it can be reformed or change its course, for an Assabiyyah stems from a moral collapse nourished by arrogance, greed and a clan power-lust. It’s a setback for all of us to the Dark Age; and foremost, it’s a call for a pre-Islamic Jahiliya.

It secretly and unlawfully recruited about 7,500 young Somalis sent to Eritrea

Western Intelligence Agencies Oppose the Democratization of Somalia Intelligence Services (NISA) History documents the strong character of the Somali people associated with messy democratic rule that cherishes individual liberty, freedom of expression and opinion, Justice, and private entrepreneurship rather than with autocratic rule. British explorer, Sir Richard Burton wrote in 1856, "the Somalis are fierce race of republicans, constantly changing political loyalties – the Somalis lived in what amounted to a state of chronic, political schizophrenia, verging on of anarchy. Every freeborn man holds equal to his ruler and allows no loyalties or prerogatives to abridge his birthright of liberty." However, Somalis are docile to discipline and obedience if social mediation applied fairly. The appropriate model of government for Somalia is the democratic rule. Full Article
