Jubaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam and Southwest State President Sharif Hassan Sheikh Aden
Jubaland government ministers will visit a number of countries in the coming months. This will include trips to Asia, Europe, North America, South Sudan, China and so on.
dJubaland administration has been very busy training hundreds of it military to liberate Shabaab strong-hold towns in lower Juba and refurbishing public and government sectors, as well as building its government institutions such as, security , police and cabinet . The Jubaland authority has been accused of failing to effectively counter a number of assassinations targeted against the Kismayo population, including the assassinated late Jubaland Security Forcescommander, Isse Mohamed Alake "Isse Kambooni".

On June 30, 2013, acting on Mogadishu based government's orders to disrupt the formation of Jubaland State, a rug-tag militia that was under the command of the warlord, Barre Adan Shire Hiiraale, invaded Kismayo. This was a bid to revive ruffianism and the "Galguduud brotherhood” initiative. The "Galguduud brotherhood” was an outdated umbrella organisation, led-by group of warlords of Goobaale, Indhacade and Barre Hiiraale. It had committed war crimes and crimes against humanity during their 7-year control over Kismayo. During this period they killed dozens of civilians in Jubaland.

Units of the Jubaland Forces responded instantly and within a few hours the Mogadishu-backed militia was routed and defeated. Kismayo was in Jubaland's hands again. Peace and stability had successfully been restored by Jubaland forces.

Jubaland should not have negotiated with Barre Hiiraale, an active member of al Qaeda-aligned militant ,who joined the group that he met in Goob Weyn town after his defeat. But unfortunately, he received a royal welcome from President Ahmed Mohamed Islam "Ahmed Madobe”, in an attempt to end Hiraale's rebellion.

In July and Oct, 2014, hundreds of uniformed Jubaland troops completed military training and were equipped with munitions and eventually dozens of Toyota war trucks were given to them.

On the November 9, 2014 Jubaland forces captured Kudhaa, located 130kilometers Southwest Kismayo. But in a strategic error, Jubaland forcesbecame trapped on the sea Island that the militant used to export charcoal, a key sorce of revenue for the group. Without reinforcements from the Jubaland military or AMISOM, 15Jubilandtroops were killed as well as 27 militants, during fierce fighting that lasted several hours. Finally Al-Shabaab militant recaptured Kudhaa.

On Oct 27, 2014 Jubaland forces also captured Abdalla Birole, on the outskirt of Kismayo, but then withdrew its troops. This left the terrorist of Al-Shabaabin the place, who then took their revenge against the pro-Jubaland civilians.

On November 23, 2014, Jubaland President Ahmed Madobe received an official invitation from United Arab Emirates. This was the first diplomatic contact outside of Africa and his first visit to an Asian country. What they discussed has not been revealed, but it is possible that the UAE wants to undertake development projects in Jubaland. This was promised by the UAE on August 21, 2014 when its Ambassador to Somalia, Mohammed Ahmed Othman Al-Hammadi paid an official visit to Kismayo.
Jubaland held reconciliation meetings for representatives of different clans and political groups on a number of occasions inside and outside Kismayo, as well as outside of Jubaland.
On 30 December 2014, Jubaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam and the President of the Southwest administration,Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan signed a historical Memorandum of Understanding. This covered federalism, trade, security, the constitution and the 2016 general elections.
Jubaland is rebuilding its public infrastructures and government building and also re-liberating the towns that are still occupied by theremnantsof the terrorist militants, according to President of Jubaland Ahmed Madobe.

Jubaland government ministers will visit a number of countries in the coming months. This will include trips to Asia, Europe, North America, South Sudan, China and so on. This is designed to encourage investment in Somalia in general and Jubaland in particular, as it reaches out to different parts of the Somali society.
