Ogadeni refugees and Asylum Seekers
It is said that many families are denied to take ration foods in the refugee camp of Al-Khalaz.

Ogadeni Asylum seekers and Refugees in Sanaa, Yemen are very concerned not only for their safety but also for the current food insecure that the country has faced due to the Yemen crisis.

United Nation's World Food Programme (WFP) said on Monday "more than 10 million or 41 % of Yemen's population is food insecure".

Hundreds of Ogadenis stay indoors without eating any thing for the last 24 hours after the stores refused to resume their bills. The store owners stopped giving them the monthly bill after they suspected of not getting back the money on a fixed time-the first three days of the month.

Most of the refugees are women who have to bring up their families single-handed: their husbands are either in Ethiopian jails or have been killed by government forces. They work as maidservants and are paid 150 dollars per month. Most of their Yemeni masters that they used to work have already left the City.

Some of families that used to receive remittances from their family members in the West have faced a problem after some of the Hawalas could not pay the money to their clients since Sunday.

There is no escape route since most of the roads, the airport and major seaports of the country have been closed for the result of the Saudi-led coalition bombardment.

As nations trying to evacuate their citizenry, Ogadenis have no gleam of hope and they will likely sink with Yemenis or UN Refugee Agency may find a way out for them.

The Ogadeni community in Sana'a numbers approximately 2500, of whom 1850 are carrying UN documents. Around 100 families from the Ogaden live in Al-Kharaz refugee, about 120 kilometers

of the South town of Aden, registered with the UN as refugees from Somalia.

It is said that many families are denied to take ration foods in the refugee camp of Al-Khalaz. 2-year old child died and a woman, Halimo Sheikh, lost leg when they were struck by a vehicle in the Kharas Camp refugee.

However, United Nation's bureau for Refugee Affairs did not resumed its work in Sana'a. It was possibly cancelled due to the daytime bombardment of Sana'a.
