Waagacusub.net - There is a time for every leader to govern; and after that time has expired, the capacity of said leader can no longer be efficient.

According to a survey by online polling, 78% of Somalis say they will not back Hassan Sheikh, with 18% supporting him. The poll, conducted by online Somali survey group last month, questioned 2016 people between the ages of 18 and 64 across the country. With more than one independent survey now showing that the majority of Somalis think he should step down.

A source from Villa Somalia insiders says, "There are some Damul-Jadiid government officials who do not want to accept the idea of the president relinquishing power because of their selfish ambitions”.

"There are some senior Damul-Jadiid officers and others around him who, because of greed, would like for the President to remain in power. But if only he could listen to this message the country will definitely move forward”, the insider added. "The most recent data collected in August... shows that the trend of increasing disapproval of the president has levelled off”.

"There is a lot of disillusionment across the country and not much patience out there” Survey analyst said. Analyst added "The President Hassan had lost "whatever minimal base he had in the country”.

In media tweets, disgruntled Somalis stated Hassan should resign and step down as the president of the nation. One tweeter stated, "Hassan should say I am tendering my resignation because I am not fit, to hold the office.”

Another stated, "Hassan’s next speech in public should include the words, "I Hassan Sh. Mohamoud, after careful consideration, and in the best interests of my country, I resign.” While many expressed discontent, they were not specific about the reasons for his ouster. Some have hinted that corruption and bribery taints Hassan Sheikh, as the president of the Somali nation.

Corruption and political assassinations taints Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh and his right hand Farah Sh. Abdikadir, a political risk analyst, stated, "Hassan is caught between a rock and a hard place, if he appoints a PM for someone who is strong with integrity, that person may act independently to expose corruption in government.”

President Hassan Sheikh and his Damul-Jamadiid Islamist party are failing; yet his government officials want him to remain in leadership, not for the good of the country, but to fulfill their selfish desires. This is detrimental to the progress of the Somali State, as his staying in power until the end of his term may likely make it difficult to find the right successor.

On Apr 16, 2014 the online survey asked 1876 Somali people ... "Who should be the President of the Republic of Somalia in 2016? ..... What do we want in our next President? Is there something I should know...?

  • Yusur Abraar "is the preferred next head of state” survey says: Would make history by becoming the first woman ever to get elected President of the Somali nation. Would be strong on women's rights. Would compete well in the anti-corruption and anti-bribery and put Somalia back in play.

  • Preferred top 12 Next Somali Cabinet are:

  • Dr. Abdurrahman Abdillahi Baadiyow (Military and security expert )
