"The poisoning of the journalist is said to have been one of the silence executing of the intelligence officials within the Jigjiga regional presidency. The intelligence man who executed the journalist is named Dek Labago'le", a relative of the deceased journalist in Jigjiga told Waagacusub Media.
The reason behind of the journalist's execution is believed to be connected to his rejection to cooperate with the administration, according to an official. While others said the move is related to land disputes.
"President Abdi Iley immediately ordered the killing of the journalist and the order was fulfilled Dek Labago'le," said an official who spoke anonymity. Deeq Labago'le is a brother of the Liyuu Police commander, Abdirahman Labago'le.
However, Somali people are mourning the loss of its most loved predominate Journalist, who joined the Somali media in the early 70s, he became sports and entertainment report for the Radio Mogadishu and also worked as a government spokesperson in his part of defending his nation and the people.
The reporter worked for a number of radio and television including BBC Somali Service, VOA Somali Service and Universal TV, among others.
Awke was once escaped failed abducted by the Ethiopian Security force when he was Somali government's spokesperson. Somali Intelligence forces foiled that abduction a checkpoint near the border.
