Waagacusub.net - Somalia's National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has kidnapped, tortured a government worker at a district administration in Mogadishu, according to a clip obtained by a Somali Investigative Journalist Dahir Alasow.

The footage shows two officials from NISA torturing a chairman of Yaqshid district, Ali Hersi Mohamed, who was kept in solitary confinement,Karhodiya, and falsely accused of supporting Al-Shabaab.

Mohamed disappeared and his family and friends did not know his whereabouts until he has been seen on the social media.

A video longer than 27 minutes that has been submitted on Wagaacusub TV podcast on May 18 shows Mohamed sitting on a white chair and being questioned about Al-Shabaab.

Two interrogators Abdirahman Atto and Mohamed Omar involved in the torture and frankly inhumane actions perpetrated against Mr. Ali.

"You will either provide us the information we want from you or you will die. Nothing more, nothing less," said Omar in his interrogation with bound and blindfolded Mr Ali.

Senior Intelligence Officer Atto loaded his pistol and put it on the head of the prisoner while interrogating and beating him and threatening of death at the same time.

"The prisoner screamed and denied any wrongdoing. Then they removed the handcuff and the blindfold but kept humiliating him".

Mr Ali Hersi is an example of thousands of innocent civilians treated unjustly in secret detentions in the capital city of Mogadishu. The perpetrators go unpunished.
