Atosh is showing a sort of superiority over the employees for unknown reasons.

They have no longer share information and plan together  programs that are vital for Somalis because of tribalism.

Many listers opted to rely on VOA Somali for news and other programs of interest leaving the longest serving radio station, the BBC Somali.

This is not the first time that journalists of the BBC Somali Service started not to  respect each other but this unfortunate situation has been going on for years ever since Mohamed Abdullahi left the BBC. 

Such move will tarnish the image of the BBC Somali Service further which already lost many of its Somali listeners, according to an investigation made by Waagacusub Media. 

Yusuf Garad and the late Ahmed Hassan Awke did not talk to each other for years. 

Yusuf Garaad, the former editor who is since then unemployed now and veteran journalists Hassan Bariise and Abdi Salaan Hareri do not greet each other, let alone being friends, several of their friends told Waagacusub.

The rivalry between the journalists started when Yusuf Garad became the editor of the BBC Somali Service, according to people familiar with the agency.

Mr. Garad was fired from his job when he was discovered to be  a dictator who deprived the freedom of many journalists at the time.

Instead of allowing the journalists to operate in their area of responsibility freely he was guiding them like a remote controlled object from BBC London. His actions were great violation of the freedom of expression and core values of BBC.

He also turned BBC into his own agency by undermining the independence of the broadcasting station.

"I was not working for the BBC but I was serving Yusuf Garad," a former BBC Somali Service journalist in Mogadishu was quoted as saying. " If I dared to disagree with him even if he wrong he had the power to fire me and replace me another person that obey him."
