The drone strike killed Alshabab’s emir in charge of Mogadishu Ali Mohamed Hussein aka Ali Jabal, who directed all terror acts happening in the capital city, he was running the post almost a decade and half. The terrorist was killed with his 12 years old son Mohamed Amin, who was minor enough to be innocent, but was a child soldier guarding his ruthless father. Six weeks after the death of Ali Jabal, some very graphic "Kill lists” emerged from the ruins of his leftover stuff.
In one of two shocking lists, found after the killing of Ali Jabal, there appeared 13 names of famous Somalia military , police and intelligence officials.
who were in early 2000s nominated – as counter terrorism unit in the country by a former Transitional National Government President Abdikasim Salad Hassan.
All officers in the list are dead now, and all of them were assassinated by Alshabab except one officer, the late Colonel Amin Siid Ahmed, who passed away in Mogadishu in October 2013, but his family remain in hiding because fear from group’s reprisal.
Colnel Amiin fled the country soon after he escaped an assassination attempt in his residence in April 2003 but died after 10 years naturally.
The first document, which is two pages, very rough, old, and dirty, tops the name of the late Gen. Mohamed Abdi Mohamed, the former commander of Somalia National Army, who was assassinated in his house in Mogadishu, September 2004 by masked Alshabab terrorists.Ali Jabal’s departure can bee seen as a loss to the terror group because he was an institutional memory who led Alshabab’s merciless Amniyaat Unit (inelegance unit) in Mogadishu for more than 12 years.
The Amniyaat carried out all terror activity under the ideology of AlQaeda. Their terrorism claimed the lives of thousands of innocent lives through assassinations, suicide bombings, shelling and face to face battles as well as storming compounds, restaurants or hotels.
The killing of Ali Jabal is not enough justice for the thousands of lives he had taken, the pains of families that are still suffering from the traumatic experiences s
"The killing of Ali Jabal is a relief for us, but not a justice, we need the justice of ALLAAH in the hereafter, we need him to face a justice that he can’t escaped and that is ALLAAH’s” Said Barni – not her real name for her own security – a refugee mother, who lives in South Africa with here 6 orphaned children.
Barni confirmed that she lost her husbands when Alshabab gunned him down as he was sitting in front of the house with his kids
Some of the murdered victims were minors as young as 4 years, while others are living with the painful trauma, among them Barni’s son, Nur, now 16, who lost his leg 12 years ago when he was only 4 years and his father was slain in front
"I am keeping the kids here, I have a shop in small village in South Africa, it is dangerous and I can be killed here by South African xenophobic gangs, but it is still better than living in Mogadishu, where Ali Jabal and his heartless terror network can follow me every day.
In the second 3 pages assassination list, a prominent Somali investigative Journalist, Dahir Abdulle Alasow, tops. Fortunately, he is alive and didn’t fall in the bloody hands of Alshabab.
Alasow, who is an outstanding critic to the terror group’s atrocious attacks on the civilians, lives in Netherlands, where he got asylum from the Dutch government.
In the list, Alshabab calls the journalists spies, and under the document, there is an Arabic text vowing that those in the lists and their families will never be forgiven by the terrorists.
The dirty and horrific document lists over 30 names of journalists Rfi's people who were called criminals and spies of foreign countries.
Fourteen out of the 33 names of journalists in the list, were already killed but others who are still working in the media remained in the wanted list for ten years without their knowledge.
Alshabab released Ali Jabal death in an Arabic statement which was released a month after his killing.
The statement said, "On Sunday, 30 July 2017, when he was in his daily activity, and when he was giving the enemy tough lessons, as he stayed in the hid base that was neighboring to his region of Mogadishu.
An American plane bombed him , first it missed the target and the second time it hit the target, and he got his martyrdom with his 12 years old son Mohamed Amin”
The statement continued "his time has come to an end, we are sad, our eyes are crying, and we can only say Ali your departure is a grave pain to us”
But not everyone is sad because of his death, not people of Mogadishu see his death as a justice done..
A retired former police officer, Hassan Hareed Mohamed believes that Ali Jabal faced the reality and tasted the death, but his network is still intact and may recruit another ruthless individual that can continue the brutal terrorism acts in the city and surroundings.
The names of the people in the list are here.
